This afternoon, at the Casa de Cultura in Arriondas, the official presentation of the 52nd Subida Internacional al Fito took place. The event was attended by authorities, sponsors, drivers, and motorsport enthusiasts.
D. Emilio García Longo, Mayor of the Parres City Council, presided over the table, along with the President of the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, D. Manuel Aviñó, D. Luis Ardit, director of Hyundai Asturdi, and Aladino Martínez, president of Sif Motor.
Aladino Martínez, president of Sif Motor, expressed his gratitude to the Principality of Asturias, the hoteliers, and merchants of Arriondas, as well as to all the drivers who choose Fito every year. D. Luis Ardit highlighted the beauty of the sporting event and expressed his desire for it to continue for many more years. D. Manuel Aviñó praised the registration of renowned drivers and announced that the spectacle will be broadcast live, calling for the collaboration of the public to ensure the success of the event. Also, the sports councilor of the Parres City Council, Dña. Cecilia García Llamedo, expressed her honor to have an event of this level in the municipality of Parres, highlighting the 100% hotel occupancy in the municipality and neighboring areas. The Mayor of Parres, D. Emilio García Longo, valued the collaboration and connection of Fito with the people of the municipality, highlighting the exemplary organization and wishing visitors and participants a pleasant stay.
Additionally, two tributes were made: one to D. Luis Ardit for his career and collaboration, receiving a handmade Hyundai, and another to D. José María Martínez Noriega posthumously; promoter of Fito being in the European championship, given to his son. The collaboration of the students from the Sueve Institute was also appreciated for their assistance in managing a parking lot to finance their study trip. The day concluded with a family photo of drivers and collaborators.
Tomorrow, technical checks will take place in Plaza del Cañón. At 8:30 p.m., in the heart of the Villa, in Parque La Llera, the starting ceremony will take place, where the public will welcome the teams, marking the beginning of an exciting weekend of motorsport.
